The Crossing will make its Carnegie Hall debut this Thursday at 7:30pm as part of the American Composers Orchestra's series, Orchestra Underground - Lines On a Point.

Commissioned by the ACO, Amy Beth Kirsten's strange pilgrims for orchestra and choir, will feature video by Mark DeChiazza and will be conducted by ACO Music Director George Manahan. Maestro Manahan will continue at the helm conducting a piece commissioned and premiered by The Crossing from Pulitzer laureate David Lang. His statement to the court sets Eugene Debs’ iconic, socialist speech on being convicted of sedition.  The Crossing's conductor, Donald Nally, will lead Ted Hearne’s Ripple, based on a single, tragic sentence from the Iraq War Logs.

The ACO will perform Steve Reich's landmark work Eight Lines with pianists Margaret Kampmeier and Stephen Gosling, and Lisa Renée CoonsVera’s Ghosts featuring ACO’s strings.

The Crossing is thrilled to collaborate with this fantastic orchestra on a program that features two world premieres and two NYC premieres.
